Terms of use and sale (travellers)

Dernière mise à jour : 6 octobre 2026

These general terms govern the use of the Bagdropin website and the booking of luggage storage by travellers (consumers) in France.

1. Purpose and scope

These terms apply to every booking made through Bagdropin, published by Vishnugopy Suthaharan (sole proprietor, EI) (SIREN 905 044 210), whose details are in the legal notice. By booking, you accept these terms. Partners are bound by separate partner terms.

2. Definitions

  • Traveller: any person booking luggage storage.
  • Partner: an independent professional (café, hotel, shop, hostel or locker operator) offering storage on Bagdropin.
  • Spot: the storage location run by a partner.
  • Booking: a paid reservation for a number of bags between a drop-off date and a pick-up date, identified by a booking code and QR code.

3. Role of Bagdropin and of partners

Bagdropin operates an online platform that connects travellers with partners and collects payment on the partner's behalf. The storage service itself is provided by the partner, who is an independent professional. Bagdropin is not the depositary of your luggage.

4. Account and guest booking

You can book as a guest by scanning a partner's QR code, or create an account to keep your bookings. You must provide accurate information and keep your login details confidential.

5. Booking a storage spot

To book, choose the spot, the number of bags (up to 20 per booking), the drop-off date and the pick-up date, add at least one photo of your luggage, and pay. A booking is confirmed only once payment has been received and confirmed by our payment provider. You then receive a booking code and QR code.

The number of bags a spot can hold is limited. If the spot is full for your dates, the booking cannot be made.

6. Prices and payment

Prices are shown in euros, all taxes included (TTC) where applicable, per bag and per day, and the total is shown before you pay. A day starts on the drop-off date and the drop-off date counts as day one. Payment is made online through Stripe by Apple Pay or by bank card, including Cartes Bancaires, depending on your device and bank. Strong customer authentication (3-D Secure) may be required. Bagdropin does not store your full card number.

7. Drop-off and pick-up

Bring your luggage to the spot during opening hours, show your booking, and hand your bags to the partner. The partner confirms the drop-off in the app (“Stored”). To collect your bags, show your booking code before the end of the booking period and within opening hours. The partner confirms the hand-back in the app.

Pick-up after the booked period may require an additional payment: [to define].

8. Photos taken at drop-off

You must take at least one photo of your luggage when you book, and may add up to four. The photos are shared with the partner and serve as evidence of the luggage left and its apparent condition. Please do not include people, identity documents or other personal data in the photos. Photos are kept for [retention period to define].

9. Size limits and prohibited items

Each partner may set size and weight limits depending on their space. You may not store:

  • illegal items, weapons, ammunition or explosives;
  • dangerous, flammable, corrosive or toxic goods;
  • perishable food, animals or living things;
  • laptops, phones, tablets or any other electronics, money, jewellery, identity documents, keys, medication or other valuables.

Leave only clothes and personal items. Keep everything of value with you. When you book, you confirm that your bags contain no such items. The partner may refuse any item that appears unsafe or does not match the booking.

10. Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel a paid booking before the drop-off date and receive a full refund to your original payment method. Refunds are normally processed within a few working days, depending on your bank. See the cancellation and refund policy.

11. Right of withdrawal

Under articles L221-18 and following of the French Consumer Code, consumers generally have 14 days to withdraw from a distance contract. However, under article L221-28, 12° of the Consumer Code, this right does not apply to leisure or accommodation-type services that must be provided on a specific date or during a specific period. A Bagdropin booking is for a specific date, so the right of withdrawal does not apply once the booking is made. This does not affect the free cancellation described above.

12. Liability and claims

Bagdropin does not provide insurance or a guarantee for luggage. The partner who keeps your bags is responsible for them as a depositary, under articles 1927 and following of the French Civil Code, from drop-off until you collect them. Bagdropin is an intermediary and is not liable for loss or damage to luggage, except where the law provides otherwise. Because of this, please leave only clothes and personal items and keep valuables with you.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, in particular for death or personal injury, fraud or gross negligence, or limits your statutory rights as a consumer.

Check your bags when you collect them and tell the partner immediately if there is a problem. Then contact us at hello@bagdropin.com within [number] days with your booking code and photos.

13. Unclaimed luggage

If luggage is not collected within [number] days after the end of the booking and we cannot reach you, [procedure to define: notification, additional fees, disposal or donation].

14. Personal data

Your personal data is processed as described in the privacy policy.

15. Mediation and disputes

Please contact us first. If a dispute is not resolved, you may use a consumer mediator free of charge: see consumer mediation. These terms are governed by French law. As a consumer you keep the benefit of the mandatory rules of the country where you live and may bring a claim before the courts determined by the applicable rules.

16. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in force on the date of your booking applies to that booking.
